The Project
Bayfield Regional Food Producers Cooperative will purchase a new refrigeration system for a walk-in freezer. This project would expand freezer storage capacity and provide affordable freezer rental space for local farms and food producers, ensuring the long-term sustainability of community-based food systems.
Environmental Impact
This project will promote organic practices, local sourcing, and regenerative methods by providing reliable storage for products produced by local, grass-based farms, enabling them to scale their operations sustainably.
“With more freezer space, we can help local farms expand, strengthen the local food system, and support sustainable farming practices that take care of our soil, air, and water for the long term.”
– Laura Ashenbrener, General Manager
