The Project
Promised Land Farm will design and build a mobile poultry‑processing trailer that provides reliable, on‑farm processing capacity for its poultry operation. After processing, these hens can be turned into nutritious broth and stock. This trailer will serve as a long‑term, durable asset that reduces dependence on outside processors, lowers per‑bird costs, and ensures the farm can harvest birds on schedule even during supply‑chain disruptions or extreme weather.
Environmental Impact
Promised Land Farm supports organic and regenerative agriculture by using a mobile processing trailer to humanely and sustainably process retired laying hens on site. Eliminating long-distance transport reduces fuel use and emissions, while turning spent hens into broth, stock, and compost closes nutrient loops and improves soil fertility. The trailer’s contained design promotes responsible water use and proper wastewater handling, protecting nearby waterways and reinforcing a resilient, local food system.
“By creating a clean, food‑safe workspace equipped with essential processing equipment, the trailer will improve product quality, support humane handling, and strengthen the resilience of our regenerative and pasture‑based systems.”
