The Project
Farm Sol will construct a 12′ x 16′ building and merchandiser cooler to support a self-service farm stand. This project will create a designated, welcoming space with proper refrigeration, allowing for extended hours, improved product quality, and increased sales. The farm stand will strengthen the farm’s ability to serve the local community in a reliable and sustainable way.
Environmental Impact
Farm Sol uses regenerative, organic practices to grow chemical-free, nutrient-dense produce for the local community while prioritizing the long-term health of air, soil, and water. Farm Sol operates at a human scale using no-till methods and low-impact hand tools, avoiding tractors and minimizing soil disturbance and fossil fuel use. By strengthening direct-to-consumer sales through a reliable, on-farm outlet, this project supports the long-term viability of these regenerative practices while ensuring sustained access to locally grown, responsibly produced food for the community.
“The project will reduce labor demands by eliminating weekly set-up and take-down, saving an estimated 90 hours over a five-month season…we estimate that operating six days per week instead of one will increase farm stand sales by at least 150% in the first year, which also reflects an equal increase in the distribution of nutritious food within our local community.”
