During this guided tour for Whole Foods Co-op shoppers, you’ll learn how Resource Renew turns our community’s food scraps and yard waste into a nutrient-rich soil amendment. We’ll explore the history of composting at Resource Renew and why keeping organic material out of the landfill matters for our local environment.

You’ll also see each step of the composting process up close, including crafting the compost recipe, mixing ingredients, monitoring temperatures and microbial activity during active composting, and moving materials through curing, screening, and maturation. By the end of the tour, you’ll have a deeper understanding of how premium compost is made and why it’s ready for customers each spring.
