Rochdale Supremes
Sugar, salt, flour, and oats were among the first products offered by the Rochdale Weavers at their cooperatively-owned store, Toad Lane, in 1865. Chocolate chips make these bars “supreme” but if you are in search of authenticity, mix them by candlelight as tallow candles were also among the first products to be offered at Toad Lane. The Toad Lane store is maintained as a museum in Rochdale, England.
