Kale Chips
Ingredients
- 1 bunch kale (lacinato works well)
- 1 T olive oil , enough to coat all the leaves well
- ¼ t smoked applewood salt , more or less to taste
- 2 T nutritional yeast
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper (you may need to cook these in batches, depending on oven size and the amount of kale you are using).
- Wash and dry kale. The kale must be very dry, so spin the leaves in a salad spinner and pat with towels, if necessary. Remove the hard stems and trim the kale into square-like pieces, about 2-inches by 2-inches.
- Toss the prepared kale with olive oil and smoked applewood salt. Sprinkle the nutritional yeast over the kale and toss briefly.
- Lay the kale out in a single layer on the baking sheets. Bake for 10 minutes, then check the chips. If they are to your liking, take them out, or you may let them cook a few minutes longer, but be careful that they don't burn!
