GIVE Non-Profit Support Program Application Preview

Below is a preview of the GIVE! Non-profit Support Program requirements and online application. This preview is for preparation purposes only, applicants will be required to submit an online application.

In 2023 it is anticipated that selected organizations could receive donations of approximately $4,000 – $5,500. 

ELIGIBILITY: 

Non-partisan and non-sectarian 501(c)(3) designated nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to organizations that serve the Twin Ports area of Duluth, MN, and Superior, WI. Applicant organizations must be engaged in activities that address one or more of the following funding priorities: 

  • Environmental Stewardship 
  • Equity and Diversity 
  • Food Access 
  • Local Food Economy 

Please note: An organization may be a GIVE! recipient only once per calendar year. Past funding does not guarantee future support. Whole Foods Co-op reserves the right to preempt the GIVE! schedule to raise emergency or disaster relief funds. During selection we will review all applicants and take into consideration previously funded groups (2021/2022) vs. groups who haven’t been funded before. Applicants are voted on by Co-op Owners and Staff.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

To be considered for the GIVE! Non-profit Support Program, applicants must complete all sections of the form and email the following files to give@wholefoods.coop: 

  • .pdf of IRS Nonprofit Determination Letter 
  • Organization Logo (.AI or .EPS file formats preferred OR at least 300 DPI) 
  • Three high resolution (at least 300 DPI) images illustrating the organization’s activities

SUBMISSION TIMELINE: **Application will OPEN July 1, 2022**

Submit the completed application (including required uploads) by completing the online form. Applications are due September 11, 2022, by 11:59 pm. 

Completed applications will be reviewed for program eligibility by a team of Whole Foods Co-op employees. A pool of finalists will be presented to Whole Foods Co-op Owners to vote on as a part of the October 2022 owner ballot. 

2023 GIVE! Non-profit Support Program recipients will be announced at the Annual Owner Meeting on Thursday, October 27th, 2022, and highlighted in the Winter 2022 Garbanzo Gazette Owner newsletter, published in January 2023.
